The RMB is the Buffet Carriage used on some of the trains running at the Bluebell Railway. It is staffed by volunteers with some support from the Catering Department at Sheffield Park Station. Turnover is around £25,000 a year. It is preferable to start the train from Sheffield Park Station although it is possible to join the train at other stations along the line. You will be serving and selling refreshments including hot and cold drinks, alcohol and pre-packaged goods such as crisps and biscuits.

Please bring your welcoming smile - we want the team to be the best it can be! You will make lots of new friends. You don't have to have a special interest in trains to join us although it can be helpful. We prefer whole day duties but may be able to offer flexibility for half day duties if necessary. We are happy to discuss what hours you can offer, also in terms of regular or occasional volunteering. We provide you with opportunities to learn new things! Training and support will be given You will be selling and serving hot and cold drinks, alcohol and light refreshments all pre-packaged. You will be taking card payments (training will be given) and handling money. As part of the team, you will be helping to keep the workplace clean and tidy. You should maintain high standards of personal hygiene. You will need to be physically mobile. There is an opportunity to gain a Catering qualification if appropriate (paid for by the Railway) This is an opportunity for valuable experience in a unique catering environment.
