Our charity exists to supply transport to the elderly, disabled and those who suffer from social exclusion and cannot access public transport.
Our volunteer car scheme drivers use their own cars to take people in their local community to the shops or to medical appointments.
All bookings are agreed with you in advance via phone or email, and you receive expenses of 45-50p per mile, with a £5 contribution.
Although the role is aimed at helping others, our volunteers tell us that they really enjoy meeting the wide range of people we serve and it has become a real connection to their community.

Using you own car we will ask you when you are available and allocate as much or as little work that you would like. All bookings are Monday to Friday, unless you tell us that you have availability of evenings and weekends and you can set your own hours of availability. You tell us when you are available to help - some of our drivers set availability from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, others can offer help a few afternoons a week. All are welcome. We will pay for a DBS check and help you to make sure that your vehicle is insured for volunteer driving (at no charge)
