Do you enjoy practical DIY tasks and want to help preserve a piece of railway heritage?
The Bluebell Railway is looking for new volunteers to join our friendly DIY Team based at East Grinstead station. The team is made up entirely of volunteers who help maintain and improve the station buildings, facilities and surrounding areas, ensuring they remain welcoming for our visitors and staff.
The work is varied and includes general DIY and maintenance tasks such as painting, decorating, minor repairs, carpentry, gardening, and other practical jobs. No specialist qualifications are required – just a willingness to get involved, learn new skills, and work as part of a supportive team.
Whether you have years of DIY experience or simply enjoy hands-on projects, there is always something to do and plenty of experienced volunteers who are happy to share their knowledge.
This is a great opportunity to meet new people, contribute to the preservation of the Bluebell Railway, and see the direct results of your efforts in a unique heritage railway environment.
