Join us as a Trustee!

We work alongside communities across West Sussex to build connection and participation.

What we do
• Support 550 plus voluntary and community groups with guidance on governance, funding, and impact
• Offer free and low-cost training, including first aid, social media and fundraising
• Run forums that build skills, confidence and partnership working
• Provide two community hubs and welcoming community activities
• Champion the voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise sector across Sussex

We particularly welcome

• People aged 16 plus
• Young or first-time trustees
• People underrepresented on boards

Skills

A recent trustee skills audit (February 2026) confirmed our board is strong and well run with good governance and decision making and confidence in partnership working and community insight. We now want to strengthen and recruit 2- 3 trustees with skills/experience of:

• Digital and data, including AI
• Health and local authority systems and policy
• Asset-based approaches including participation and co-production

Our Board meetings are usually held on a Tues, Weds or Thurs in January, April, June/July and October and last approx. 2 hours. these are held online and in person at The Cherry Tree Centre. Our AGM is in November and is a face-to-face event, held in Mid Sussex.
