As a tea party driver, you’ll collect older guests from their homes with the Haywards Heath/Burgess Hill areas, accompany them to a monthly tea party and drive them home again afterwards. The tea party will be at a different volunteer host’s home each month and will include older guests, other volunteer drivers and possibly the tea party group coordinator.

Each tea party usually lasts for around two hours and they take place on a Sunday afternoon.

Tea parties provide a lifeline of friendship for socially isolated or lonely older people. The warm, regular, and friendly companionship provides a vital link with the outside world from which they’ve become isolated.

Skills

This is a flexible voluntary role that can easily be fitted in around your own lifestyle and availability.

We’re looking for tea party drivers who have safe driving skills, a friendly nature and people who enjoy making conversation whilst demonstrating good listening skills.

If you have a passion for improving the lives of lonely and isolated older people within the Haywards Heath area, then we’d love to hear from you.

Basic computer skills are helpful as our checks and training are all online and our charity is paperless.
